Traditional Thai Massage

Thai massage is based on the principle that many physical and emotional problems are caused by blocking of vital energy channels within the body ; very similar to the theory behind acupressure.

The masseur or masseuse uses their hands, feet, knees and elbows, to exert pressure on these channels, whilst pulling and pushing limbs into yoga-like stretches. This is what essentially distinguishes the Thai style of massage from other forms of massage, which are usually associated with muscle manipulation.

The hot herbal compress contains numerous herbs tightly bound in fabric which is steamed until piping hot and firmly rolled. After a full-body, pressure point Thai massage, the hot herbal compress is pressed or pounded over the entire body in order to smooth muscle and stimulate the vital organs and senses.
